I was able to score an amazing deal on the newest ship Princess Cruises offered on their Inaugural New Year’s Eve celebration! This was my first time celebrating NYE on a cruise and it sure did not disappoint! Sun Princess Cruise offers an unparalleled passage through both luxury and adventure, redefining what a travel experience should be. Demographic on this ship was an older crowd and I was told there are usually not many kids unless its a holiday cruise. As this was a New Year’s Eve cruise, there were many kids on board and many kid activities.

I stayed in room 14303 and it was a Blacony room which was very spacious and offered lotion, bodywash, shampoo, and conditioner in the shower. I rarely used the balcony and kept the curtains closed most of the time as I was traveling with a toddler. But a balcony room is nice to be able to capture great views of the ports before getting off the ship to explore! When it comes to accommodations, the Sun Princess Cruise spares no expense in providing a regal experience fit for royalty. From spacious suites to elegant staterooms, every detail has been carefully curated to ensure your comfort and relaxation throughout your journey.

The food on the Princess Sun was definitely a hit or miss. The food at the main dining room was cold and bland except for the new year’s eve night when they had steak and lobster. If your wait staff isn’t great on the first night, on the app ask ti be assigned a new person so your cruise experience isn’t ruined. I was upset that our waitress did not confirm or ask about the food allergies at the main dining room, so I asked for a new waitress , which was much better the following night! My favorite places to eat were the Americana Diner , the pizza on lido deck, and the International Cafe. The included room service food could have been better. The only time I enjoyed my meals at the Eatery was during breakfast, which was nice that they served it until 12pm, which allowed me to sleep in. The lido deck rice bowls and Shwarmas were pretty good too!
For a more casual dining experience, head to one of the ship’s buffet-style restaurants, where an array of international cuisines awaits. From made-to-order omelets for breakfast to decadent desserts for dinner, there is no shortage of delectable options to choose from.
And let’s not forget about the 24-hour room service available onboard. Whether you’re craving a late-night snack or breakfast in bed, simply pick up the phone and have your favorite dishes delivered right to your doorstep.
I opted out of the alcohol package and just bought drinks at the bar, which were reasonably priced. I also was happy that the Buffet at the Eatery was not self serve.

The shows and events that the cruise offered were great and left me very impressed. Make sure to catch all the shows at the Dome. Pictures with Santa was a great event that my toddler loved! The NYE party at the Lido deck was EPIC and absolutely was a night to remember in a positive way!

There were no kid pools on this ship and they were all over 6ft deep except the infinity pool behind Americana Diner. I spent most of my time with my toddler in the Infinity pool and the Hot tubs next to it.

When I say the thermal spa 7-day pass is worth every penny, please believe me! It’s very budget friendly when purchased before the cruise and had so many treatment rooms that were amazing. You get your own robe and shoes , even if not booking a massage. The hot tub with the rain shower was so nice and relaxing and the warm beds were my favorite. I tried to go for one hour each day after breakfast.

Overall I did enjoy my time on this cruise and sitting near the owner of Princess Cruises at the theatre show was a nice surprise as well! The kids clubs seemed to be used a lot with the parents on board and didn’t hear any complaints, although I personally did not utilize this service.
